HowTo: Enable Plugin Installation in Notes 8.5 Standard Client

Dazu muss man allerdings die Möglichkeit zur Plugin Installation erst einmal über einen der beiden folgenden Wege aktivieren:
1. Using Policies
Über eine Desktop Policy kann man die manuelle Installation von Plugins ermöglichen. Standardmässig ist "Allow user initiated updates" deaktiviert, aktiviert man es hier, wird die entsprechende Aktion im Notes 8 Client sichtbar.

2. Parameter in der plugin_customization.ini
 Falls man keine Policies benutzt, kann man die Aktion zum Installieren von Plugins auch über den Eintrag
 com.ibm.notes.branding/enable.update.ui=true 
 in der \framework\rcp\plugin_customization.ini sichtbar machen.

Startet man nun den Notes 8.5 Client neu, ist die Funktion File -> Application -> Install verfügbar.

In Notes 9.0.1 musste ich neben der Anpassung der "plugin_customization.ini" noch die Datei "<notesdatadir>\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings\com.ibm.notes.branding.prefs" anlegen und nachfolgende Zeile einfügen:

"enable.update.ui=true"
